This is my first time dealing with switching auto insurance to another state. I really would like to know which day should I switch the auto insurance. My insurance company covers both states. If I move from MD to VA on April 1, and I plan to register my car with VA DMV on April 4th. On April 4th, I guess I should have VA vehicle insurance ready for car registration, maybe I need to switch the auto insurance between April 1st and April 3rd. But if I switch auto insurance between April 1st and April 3rd, but at that time my car is still registered with Maryland (while no more MD vehicle insurance). Regarding switching auto insurance and car registration, which should happen first? Thanks.

just brought a car but im not insured on it yet as i only have a provisional license. Ive got my test the end of this month and this will sound cocky but i ave a feeling i will pass it ok. But if i get insurance now with a provisional license and pay it in installments, if and when i pass my test, Do people usualy have to pay the following 11 months of provisional insurance (at a higher cost) instead of the full license cost, do you get me? kinda confusing..but if you know anything about it from your own experience or something, wil you tell me what insurance people you r with so i can check them out..i live in ireland by the way so dont tell me about english companies please :) like eg.. my insurance is 1500e, i pay say 30e a week or something on a provisional license. opposed to: my insurance is 800e, i pay just 20e a week or something on a full license.. Do i still have to finish paying 1500e instead of 800e? i cant explain it anymore sorry if it not clear..? thanks x

Buying my first car - which one should I choose?

I am a 22-year-old female and I'm looking to buy my first car so I can commute to my new job about 25 miles away. I am looking for something: *cheap to run *cheap on insurance *cheap on road tax ****reliable**** *relatively cheap to fix if something goes wrong *second hand - no more than 5 years old *up to 4,000 *smallish/easy to park Any recommendations? I have absolutely no clue about cars so that's why I have resorted to Yahoo Questions! I am completely indifferent about the style/look of the car and I am a slow/sensible driver. I just need a little runaround to get me from A-B. Reliability is crucial to me because if I have to be left without a car for any period of time I will be unable to get to work. Any advice on the make and model of any cars I should consider would be much appreciated as I am visiting garages all week this week. Thanks!

HOW MUCH is your car insurance for your 17 yo boy?

Prices are crazy here in TX. We would pay $800 every 6 months for our son to drive our car. And he can't drive one of them, because we only have liability insurance on that one (he might make a mistake and cream the car and we'd have no insurance to fix it--our daughter already did that with the other car!). Is it fair to tell him he can't get a dr. license until he can pay for the insurance? In our state, you can get a license at 16, but we've made him wait.

I have 3rd party insurance only on my car. Someone went into the back of me & has admitted fault. They asked if they could try to settle without going through insurance companies but they are taking too long to get back to me with an offer to settle. I have been to get some bodywork quotes but have been told that it will probably be an insurance write off. The amount they give me will not enable me to buy the standard of car that I want & I don't want to put any more to it. Can I buy back an insurance write off in Ontario? I can't seem to get all of my questions answered from my own research, so I've resorted to yahoo answers. My family lost my dad a few years ago, and with him we lost our insurance coverage.
